Frequently
Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about calculating trade profit, loss projections, and position parameters with Inveslo.
How is profit or loss calculated?
Profit or loss is calculated by taking the difference between your closing price and opening price, multiplying it by position size (lots) and contract size, and converting the value into your base account currency.
Are commissions and swap fees included in the calculation?
No, the calculator reflects profit or loss based on entry and exit execution prices. It excludes applicable overnight financing swaps and account commissions.
How does trade direction affect the calculation?
For buy (long) trades, profit occurs when the closing price is higher than the opening price. For sell (short) trades, profit occurs when the closing price is lower than the opening price.
Why do I need to enter an account currency?
Account currency is required to accurately convert profit or loss results from the instrument's quote currency into your account's base denomination.
How does contract size impact trade profit or loss?
Contract size defines the number of standard units per lot. Larger contract sizes mean price movements produce greater monetary profit or loss per lot.
